7. Can Neurofeedback replace medication?

  • Neurofeedback is not necessarily a replacement for medication. Many people we work with are taking medication when we begin neurofeedback. As training progresses some people find they can reduce their medication and some find they can eliminate it. Other people find that they do better with a combination of medication and biofeedback.

We also work with people who have tried medication (often many medications) without success or have experienced unwanted side effects and are exploring other options. Still, other people prefer to try non-medication solutions before trying medication.

In all cases we ask that people consult with their physician before making any medication changes. We are glad to speak with your physician to answer any questions.
