How Stress and Anxiety May Be Treated with Neurofeedback
“I used to bite my finger nails every time I was behind in a project. I’d go home many nights with a headache that wouldn’t quit. Now, most times work stress doesn’t get to me nearly the way it used to.“
- Fifty-one year old stress management client
Imagine feeling calm when stress and anxiety come on. Being in control, almost peaceful. No worrying. No panic.
There’s less stress. It’s quieter around the house. You get on better with your family and friends, and things start to improve at work. All because you’ve learned to steer clear of stress and anxiety.
- Learning Stress and Anxiety Treatment Techniques
Our Stress and Anxiety Management Program is designed to help everyone from kids to adults avoid moments of excessive stress and anxiety. We all experience stress, but you’ll learn to reduce its impact upon your health and the quality of your life. We provide a combination of services to
for stress and anxiety treatment, including:
1. Individual counseling: where you’ll learn how to recognize and change negative “self talk” which often fuels the fire of stress and anxiety. These techniques can usually be taught in just a few sessions. This counseling is sometimes more helpful for adults than children.
2. Biofeedback: which teaches relaxation techniques such as modifying your breathing patterns or controlling your heart rate, that change your body’s response to everyday stressors and reduces the likelihood that they’ll accumulate in unhealthy ways.
3. Neurofeedback: which helps change your brain’s reactivity to the stressful
events we all encounter and frequently stops stress responses before they start.
- How Neurofeedback May Help
Just as we train at the gym to make our body stronger and work more effectively, neurofeedback can help the brain to more effectively and efficiently self-regulate. Often as better brain self-regulation occurs many challenging problems get better. Neurofeedback is a straightforward, painless, and drug-free process which involves watching games on a computer screen. To learn more about neurofeedback, click here.
